The Malleable Light

Each night I have been setting the intention that I will remember my dreams and my out of body experiences. Last night I had several dreams that I remember vividly and one in particular seemed to be symbolic.

Upon falling back asleep after waking up at 4 AM I found myself in an large unfamiliar city with my younger brother who current lives a thousand miles away in waking life. We were standing in the front yard of this house that I am very familiar with because I have seen this same house in my dreams before.

The house is located on a corner lot in a run down industrial part of town under some large oak trees. The lot exists on a slope and there’s a street to the left of it and then extending up the hill to the right there are more houses. Across the street in front of the house there is a valley and then more industrial type buildings within it.

My brother and I were standing on the walkway leading up to the front door of the house close to the street out front. We were facing the street on the left side of the house and could see many run down industrial type buildings, some of which seemed empty.

We were lost and were trying to get home. I am not sure where home actually was but we were trying to get there. At first I thought we could just walk around until we found home but then I realized that I had an iPhone in my pocket and that it had GPS.

Once again I don’t recall in the dream actually knowing where home was but for some reason this didn’t seem to matter so I plotted the route home within the phone and we began walking.

A considerable amount of time passed. I have no knowledge of how we got to this place but we ended up on a road that was leading up a ridge and on our left was a deep ravine. The industrial buildings were now directly behind us at the bottom of the ridge off in the distance. We were still on our journey home but the mood had changed and we were growing tired because the journey was too long and we were not close to home.

I remember sitting next to my brother looking at the route on the phone and the estimated time to reach the destination was 20 days.

My brother looked over at me like I was an idiot and said “What way was the bird facing when you plotted that route?” I was confused at this point.

He then pulled a small bird out of a backpack and handed it to me. He told me that the GPS would not work without the bird. He went on to explain that if the starting point was A and the destination was B and then the route in the iPhone was plotted from A to B but the bird’s beak was facing A, then the iPhone would automatically try everything that it could to get back to A while planning a route to B. He then told me to point the bird towards B and to watch.

I physically turned the bird’s beak so that it was facing our destination B and he took the iPhone and planned out the route again and the estimated time to destination dropped to 20 minutes.

He then looked at me and smiled and said, “See, now you understand that birds are the gateway into the spirit world.”

The dream ended.
