Lucid Dream and Astral Projection Frustrations – Stuck Mid-Air
If you’ve read my other entries here, you’ll probably realize that I almost entirely project out of lucid dreams. I’m not sure why that is, and I’d like to be able to consciously project, but haven’t so far.
Anyway, last night I realized I was dreaming and decided to project. I was on top of a building and thought, hmm, maybe I can just jump off this building, stop myself mid-air, and then project. It didn’t work the way I planned! I jumped off the building, stopped myself mid-air, and couldn’t go anywhere. I was just stuck mid-air, until I woke up. Nothing more frustrating than trying to astral project from a lucid dream and getting stuck mid-air. Actually, there is something more frustrating.
Last week, I realized I was dreaming while in an elevator in the dream. I tried to stick my arm through the elevator door, but it didn’t go anywhere! My hand just rammed into that elevator door, and it hurt. Yep, that’s pretty frustrating too.
On one hand, I’m happy that I’m at least having lucid dreams semi-regularly in order to attempt to project. On the other hand, it’s frustrating to have the dreams and then fail to project within them.

Mostly, there are many misconceptions about astral projection. One is that you will always have absolute control or that you should always have that.
Actually some of astral projection happens by a natural system which has nothing to do with what we desire. Even physically the body does many things without our conscious desires and some of these things cannot be stopped by our will power.
For instance if you eat an apple, can you stop your digestive tract from processing it?
In astral projection, it is best to just relax and when you try to do something to be observant of how the system responds or does not respond. Take note of that so that you can learn how the system operates.
Meditation is a great help in mastering and understanding the astral body and it functions.
