Failed Lucid Dream to Astral Projection attempt
This morning I found myself dreaming.. during which I became lucid.. I’m not sure what triggered the lucidity… I have been doing a few reality checks from time to time in physical lately but after gaining lucidity the memory was… ”that doesn’t happen in real life” – “I must be dreaming” although I am not sure of the exact situation that preceeded the lucidity…
Instead of continuing with the Lucid Dream and seeing where it would take me I made the decision to make an Astral Projection attempt.. I believe the speed at which I made the switch hampered my efforts… On gaining lucidity, I straight away made the choice as I had planned on an Astral Projection should I become lucid in the near future – To my demise I hadn’t planned a way to achieve this… The method I made up on the spot was to feel for my physical body.. as this is kind of what happened in an experience I had here… The scene I was in began to break down instantly.. What I was looking at degraded into a white fuzz.. I continued to feel for my physical body.. At this stage I began to wonder whether I would feel vibrations begin in my physical body… Then sadly enough.. consciousness was lost..
I’m not sure if I fell back to sleep or what happened but as I thought about this today I had two ideas.
1. Make a plan – constructing lucid dream or Astral Projection goals or scenarios may not only help in prolonging & gaining lucidity in dreams, it may also foster a purpose for projecting astrally.. It may not only be useful to plan like I did – “when i next become lucid i will attempt to use it as a pathway to an Astral Projection experience” – but it may also be useful to create a method of how this might be achieved – eg. I might try shifting the dream to my bedroom to look at my physical body (or a better idea I can think of before the next Lucid Dream.. other ideas are only limited by imagination i assume)
2. Ensure a conscious stream is present before altering things too quickly – ie. maintain lucidity without loosing consciousness or being sucked back into the dream scenario.. Going along with the dream (to a degree) has partly helped me maintain lucidity in dreams before.. which is in contrast to quick changes of scenery I have tried (like catching a bus for example – which resulted in the dream deteriorating when I got off the bus as the scene wasn’t constructed – strangely enough in this past example the minorly formed scene also degraded into white fuzz before i woke up). Ensuring a conscious stream for at least a short time may be likely to assist in the Lucid Dream -> Astral Projection process..
I’m open to suggestions and feedback..

I think you are missing something big by relying on what you can plan. It may serve your purpose better if you decided to let go of that for a 6 month year period and instead just decide to observe what your psyche does during the astral projections or dreams states once they begin.
It is in a way like driving a new car. The impulse is to step on it and try out all sorts of things but there is room also to just observe how the car operates.
Much of the success with LD and AP has to do with understanding how the psychic system operates.
Take a look at my recent book on methods of observation:

@Michael Beloved
Last night/This morning I was having so many dreams again. In one of them I was downstairs in my house & became lucid.. I was just opening the door that leads outside when I thought I “should” go back upstairs and see if I can see my physical body…
No luck.. consciousness was lost again quite quickly..
After waking I realised it may be much more “fun” to have ventured outside as what I had planned was pretty boring…
It may be useful to observe and understand how the system is operating first before planning too much.. I’ve been LD’ing for years now but I seem a little out of practice lately.. A busy physical life has left me with less time to focus on dreams..
It seems it may be more “fun” and I may learn more by going “with it” (to a degree) for a little while..
Thanks for your tip…
I wish there was something more that I could say to help you transition out of a dream and into the a projected state. It seems like it sort of happens naturally to me these days (when I manage to become lucid). I will be dreaming, become lucid and then moments later find myself in bed experiencing vibrations and sleep paralysis.
I have noticed that if I try to force things when projected, a lot of times I wake up from the experience. I have been trying to travel to specific people and it seems that perhaps I am too far out of sync with the here and now or maybe I just become too lucid which somehow connects me back to my physical. Maybe the same sort of thing is happening to you.
Gaining lucidity in dreams happens fairly frequently to me.. You’ve done heaps… I’m sure I’ll make the transition soon..
I think Michael Beloved may be correct in that I need to let go a little & not try to be in control of the whole process..
I think you’ve said something similar to me before..
