The Malleable Light

I have been dry in the area of Astral Projection over the last 9 days. This is not surprising to me when I stop and consider that I have only been practicing for the last four months of my entire life (that I can remember) which is just a fart in the wind in comparison to others.

Along my journey I have had a dozen consciously induced out of body experiences and I have also read over a thousand pages on the subject between Robert Monroe’s entire collection, William Buhlman’s Adventures Beyond the Body, Matt Jones’ Lucidology videos and Vessen Hopkins’ Vehram System. These were very good resources and I highly recommend that people read and study them all. There is however one book that I have been wanting to read more than all other books and it’s called Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce. I was saving the best for last.

I picked up the book last week from my friends over at Whole Life Books here in Austin. I’ve read the first 4 chapters which is about 80 pages into the 600 page book and I must admit that it’s very good.

When reading Monroe’s books he would always talk and re-entry and about the bodies that he would see hovering next to his body that mirrored his own. Monroe never really went into much detail about this but in this book it is thoroughly explained within the first 100 pages and I am sure this is just skimming the suface of what’s in the book.

He also explains a concept called “Mind-Split”. Which literally means that your consciousness exists and is fully functional in two or more different bodies at once. He also touches on a subject that I posted in one of my previous blog entries about remembering OBEs. He states that most people have successful OBEs but think they are failing at it because they don’t remember that it ever happened. I guess this would be a partial failure still, but knowing this and overcoming it is worth the price that I paid for the book alone.

I will continue reading this beast of a book over the next few weeks and put this new information into play and see if I can shorten the gap between OBEs. Make sure to check back soon as I should have some pretty cool experiences to write about and possibly some great advice.

Last night’s experience was pretty frustrating. I’ve been reading Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce and working through some of the energy work. Last night I spent time focusing energy in my feet. Basically following this tutorial for the toes and feet:

My feet immediately started tingling, so I figured I already have a good store of energy there but I went through the exercises anyway.

I was tired last night, so I didn’t even intend to try to project. I just went off to sleep around 11 or so. Sometime in the middle of the night I woke up and felt that I could lift out of my body. I willed myself out but I wasn’t able to see or do anything. I assume I tried too early. Next time that happens, I think I’ll just wait a while instead of immediately trying.
