I went to bed around 10 PM last night which was an amazing feat. We watched Monk, the kids fell asleep and our eyes got heavy so it was early to bed. I put on my earbud headphones and fell asleep listening to “”Naturespace Holographic Audio – Night at Lake Unknown”". I don’t remember any of my dreams up until about the time I woke up around 6 AM – 7 AM.

At about 6 AM I found myself in a dream. I was in the passenger side of a car that was moving through the foothills of The Smokies. The guy that was driving was unfamiliar and the road we were on must have been unfamiliar to him because he was driving too fast. It was a rough, narrow, winding two way road and I was afraid that a) he was going to run off the road or b) run into a car. I remember being part of this dream script and telling him to slow down. There were two passengers in the backseat that I knew but I can’t remember who they were now.

The place we were driving was familiar and I was trying to figure out where we were but the dream shifted at this point. We were no longer in the car, the driver was gone and we were standing in the mouth of a cave looking down a rocky slope in front of us. There were some huge boulder steps leading down to a road that was about 40 feet down and across the road was a lake surrounded by the forest. The time shifted forward and I found myself backing down the steps. I was talking to the two people who were previously in the back seat but were now standing in the mouth of the cave. While climbing down I stuck my foot out and noticed that the pull of gravity on me changed which made me realize I was dreaming. I pushed away from the steps and floated over them. My thoughts and the scenery around me became crystal clear and for a few seconds I questioned whether I was in my primary reality (whatever that is). This awareness abruptly ended and I woke up.

From this point forward, the experiences described were absolutely real in the context of what our waking reality on Earth is like. I had fully waking consciousness with all senses and Earthly memories. I was laying in bed thinking about the dream and I could feel a vibration in my chest. I focused my intent on altering my awareness and the vibrations got stronger and actually tickled under my arms to the point that I woke up. I sat up and looked around and realized that I was not in my bed in Austin. I was in my childhood bunkbed and there was another bed across from me on the other side of the room. My younger brother had gotten up, gone to the restroom and come back to bed. It didn’t register at first, but then I thought to myself “My brother is married and grown!”. I realized that I was reliving the past or experiencing an alternate reality. I woke up again.

I was laying in bed and once again, I was still in the old childhood bunkbed. Then I heard a voice that said “Would you like to experience an unactualized past reality?” It went on to say “If you choose to do this, it will be absolutely real and you may lose the connection to your current incarnation briefly.” I said yes, the voice disappeared and I sat up in the bunkbed and it was morning. I jumped out of bed and instantly felt a lighter body. I must have been about 8 years old and I was in my childhood home.

I walked to the living room and I saw my Dad sitting in an armchair watching TV. It was interesting because I DID remember my current incarnation and I wanted to see what was different from what I remembered from growing up in waking reality. I figured the best way would be to ask my Dad questions.

The first thing I said to him was “Hey, what’s up?” Then I realized that I wouldn’t have said that back then and he was looking at me strange. Then I asked him “How’s Mr. Tate doing?” Mr. Tate was the neighbor directly to the left of us when we were growing up. My Dad replied “Who is that?” Interesting. Then I asked how Mr. Kindred and Mr. Beyer were doing. They were our other neighbors. He seemed to remember them and replied, “Kindered is good and Beyer is still the same crazy.” I guess it was a bit different than what he said about Mr. Beyer in waking life in the past which was “I’ll be glad when he is dead”. He got his wish in 2009 BTW.

I was kinda laughing and thinking that perhaps it was the presense of Mr. Tate that had created the bitterness in waking life, but at the same time realized that I would never understand the mind of my Dad. I woke up after this and had to check to make sure I was really awake this time. . My Wife was in bed with me and I could see my kids so yes, I was back in waking life. For those of you who have never experienced lucid dreams / alternate realities, it’s really hard to explain the reality confusion. I will just repeat myself and say that while in these altered states there is NO difference from them and waking reality other than I have my waking memories which seem to conflict with them. The things is, when the senses are telling me “This is REAL”, I end up questioning the memories.

This experience comes to me after several dormant weeks. I hope it’s a sign of things to come because I really do have fun with these things.

A few days ago I found a new app for my iPhone called Naturespace Holographic Audio. It caught my attention when I was searching for ambiance applications. The creators make the following claim:

Like dreaming while awake, our recordings create the illusion of being transported to another place. Not just the sounds of nature, but the spaces of forests, canyons, rivers and open fields induce a “being there” experience. Created with recording techniques designed specifically for headphone listening, they reach deep into your subconscious and the dreaming begins.

Sounded good to me so I bought it! The product does indeed live up to their claim. I turned on one of the tracks that came with that application and it was like literally being in a remote location. They have somehow recorded the audio tracks so that the sounds are in 3D. Don’t ask me how because I don’t know, but it’s a unique experience to say the least.

There is one track in particular that I like and it’s called “Night at Lake Unknown”. When I listen to it, I feel like I am by a rushing mountain river out in the Smokies where I grew up.

Two nights ago I was listening to the track mentioned above as I fell asleep and as I did I noticed that the darkness behind my eyes began to fade into light and within about 15 minutes I found myself totally disconnected from my current awareness and back in my childhood awareness. This experience was not dreamlike. I literally was in my body as it was in the late 70s early 80s. I was back in time on a camping trip with my dad in Telico Plains, TN up in the mountains.

It was morning and I was in the process of waking up. I noticed the sound of the river beside our tent and the smell of the campfire burning from the night before. There was a feeling of youthful excitement within me as I laid in my sleeping bag and realized that I was camping and that I was surrounded by a completely new environment. This wasn’t like the bed at home that I was used to. I felt connected to the forest around me and to the creatures in the river and trees that I had experienced the day before.

Within a few minutes the scene faded and I came back to present time and jumped up almost in a panic. Almost as if coming back to my current awareness was a shock.

This has to be one of the most rewarding altered states of consciousness that I have experienced in some time. I had completely forgotten how it felt to be new on this planet before being exposed to the abstracts of our society. I was experiencing things for the first time with no filters in place. I was experiencing the joy of the world from the perspective of a child. It was such a wonderful experience.

I think that I actually accessed the past actualized database that Physicist Tom Campbell mentions in his My Big TOE and in his lectures.

I can’t promise that this application will produce results like I had, but if you have an iPhone check out Naturespace Holographic Audio. It will deeply relax you if nothing else.

Last night I was extremely tired after a long day of getting nothing done. I have days where I work fervently but without any focus and end up nowhere. That was my day yesterday. I normally try to meditate for an hour or so before bed while listening to binaural beats or isochronic tones that range between 4.5 HZ and 9 HZ. Last night I decided that a 3 HZ tone and some rest would be a better idea.

I laid down and instantly fell asleep around 12:30 AM. The earbud headphones stayed snug in my ears while I slept through the night with the 3 HZ tone pulsing the entire time. Around 5 AM (I think) I remember being in a dream on a road that crossed through a residential area. I was talking to my Wife and I was still very much out of control. Then I remember that I started to meditate in the street and things drastically changed.

While meditating I floated out of my body and as I did my vision sharpened and I had full waking awareness within my dream. It’s hard to explain and perhaps it will not make sense to someone that’s focused on physical matter reality but as I was in this state I was communicating with my wife with non verbal communication and I remember being excited at the possibility.

I walked around for what I perceived to be 20 minutes at least. Some things to note is that my vision was superb in this state. There were tons of oak and maple trees around and the colors had a depth to them beyond that of which I have seen in waking reality. The leaves were super sharp and I could see every detail of every leaf.

The odd part about it all was that I seemed to be contained within a dome of light and then off in the distance I could see the light fading off into darkness. Several times I walked into the darkness and I could feel my dream state rushing back trying to take over my awareness. I would simply demand awareness and the darkness would retreat.

Towards the end of this experience I looked up and noticed that in the darkness there were thousands of stars. I remember thinking to myself that I wanted more information about the stars and suddenly dozens of translucent information panels appears in my field of view and as I focused on areas of the sky beams of light would extend out from the surrounding panels and information about the objects would appear on the panels. It was happening very quickly and the panels would shift around into the perfect spots to avoid blocking my view of what I was looking at. I seemed to be able to read the information much faster than in this awareness and the rapidly changing positions and information didn’t seem to bother me.

Then what I call the grand finale happened. While looking at the night, meteors started whizzing by and rectangular white marques would zoom in and surround them as they blazed across the sky and little bursts of information about them would hit my consciousness. The information that I was seeing is not something that I can translate into human terms. I woke up shortly after the meteors and it was about 6 AM.

This is all for now. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think .

This is a Lucid Dream from a few months back where I was staying at my parents in the country.. the moon was massive and the air clear.. I stayed about 5 days and had a large amount of LD’s and dreams of different types and lengths.. following is the one with the most awareness and control..

I’m in a dream which starts to get quite vivid.. I’m in a hotel or similar type environment.. It seems like I’ve just been to the toilet or something.. The dream gets more vivid and eventually lucid after someone collapses on the floor while I’m returning (to somewhere) from the toilet.. Being a health practitioner and a holder of a first aid certificate I feel compelled to help this fellow collapsed on the ground.. I go to him and while doing so I raise the alarm that someone is down..

I’m about to start the D,R,A,B,C during which he pops up and seems OK… Weird! I was thinking he collapsed due to being drunk so how did he just get up again so quickly being fairly normal? At this stage I have this information given to me (kind of like in the form of a narration in a movie – but it could have come from another dream character not sure) – the info stated – This fellow had collapsed because of ice (the drug)?? Lucidity kicks in strongly following all this weirdness..

I walk with this fellow back to a table where he’s smoking ice every now and then.. My lucidity wanes periodically while sitting here with him.. At some point I decide to move on… I find myself flying into a city environment. There are HEAPS of people.. More people than I have ever seen in a dream in one place at one time.. I’m fairly lucid and here I kind of ALLOW myself to be pulled toward the area I am needed to go.. I land and this woman starts talking to me.. not sure what about but the scence starts to break down and I am required to consciously maintain lucidity (I wish I could describe for newcomers how I prolong dreams by maintaining consciousness when it waivers but best is to suggest it is much like increasing conscious awareness in waking life via conscious effort).. My lucidity is maintained and again I simply ALLOW myself to be PULLED.. this happened earlier and I consciously allow this to happens a few times in this dream.. It just feels like a pulling sensation lifting me upward and I move with this power that lifts me and places me down in another area..

Here it gets really interesting.. I’m pulled up and placed down and an old girlfriend comes up to me.. I recognise her and think “Wow, this probably a good opportunity for some healing”.. Thinking if I was pulled here it’s probably healing more for her as I don’t really feel I have issues left there to deal with.. My feeling is she has some issues as she feels bad for breaking up with me but I don’t have any hard feelings toward her.. She says my name “Dean” and as we get closer together she tries to kiss me.. I move away from the kiss and instead hug her.. I’m put off by the kiss attempt but the hug feels fine, like I’m hugging an old friend I still care about.. She then pulls out of the hug and decides to go do something else.. No idea where she has gone.. I wait a few to about 10seconds or so then decide to leave via the ALLOWING/PULLING upward method..

I’m pulled into another scene.. (I should say that in this area where I am there are dozens and probably hundreds of scenes playing out virtually a few feet from each other but all very different and seemingly quite independent.. each in their own bubble or similar).. I’m pulled over to another woman who is quite upset, I seem to know her, I don’t know where from but I recognise her.. I try to comfort her saying “it’s OK” etc.. There are broken/smashed champagne glasses sitting on a table.. The woman suggests she doesn’t know me but still is kind of blaming me for something.. (I’m thinking maybe there was a possibility to meet her in the future but the way my life worked out with my current partner meant this wasn’t going to happen).. I move to a very nearby scene but don’t remember how..

I find myself standing at a table that has a group of young men sitting around.. When I cast my eyes in at the table there are small boxes of marijuana and I am offered some.. I say something to the effect of “No thanks guys I haven’t done this stuff in a long time and don’t really feel like doing any”.. The buds are large and white and I remember thinking they reminded me of chunks of cauliflower with a fleck of green.. Even though I didn’t want any.. something in me decides that it may be good to take some for the future and I stuff my pockets with the stuff.. (???) .. I remember that I was supposed to go back to my old girlfriend to talk and see if there was anything that needed taking care of (healing)..

At this time I just made my way back to the scene and saw her but felt a pull to come back to my physical body and the scene started to go black and I found myself in bed looking at the back of my eyelids.. I tried to stay still and go back in but the desire to move was like a bad itch I had to scratch and I decided to wake up for the day..

In this experience interesting things were:

I was able to move around by ALLOWING myself to be SHIFTED/PULLED when I desired to move

The earlier time the scene was breaking down it was breaking down into a white fuzz. In contrast the later time the scene was getting hard to hold onto it was going black/dark and I had trouble seeing before I found myself in bed.

I’m beginning to wonder if the different colours in the example above mean different things because these colours seem to relate to different things.. White when the scene is breaking down but lucidity is easier to maintain and black before finding myself in bed looking at eyelids.. The scene turning black may be an early indication that we are about to come back to the physical body and therefore may allow us to prepare for further OBE exits earlier than we would if we fully come into the physical body and feel the body’s density (which can be followed by vibes and exit).. but for me sometimes this maintaining stillness/waiting for vibes is fairly uncomfortable and I often HAVE to move..

Cheers,

Dean

Anyone who has been around meditation or the exploration of consciousness scene long enough knows about binaural beats and how they can be used to coax the brain into specific rhythms. I have been using a wide variety of beats for about two years now including Hemi-Sync, Brain Sync and a few others. I have have produced some objective results using beats in regards to faster learning, more intense focus and with lucid dreaming and OOBEs. The thing is, it’s hard to know if the results are being manifested from my intent or if the beats play some part. I tend to think that binaural beats do work based on the research that has been done at the Monroe Institute, however without personal experience to back it up I can only consider it a likely possibility.

A few months ago I was looking through the iPhone store for applications to dynamically generate binaural beats and I came across the term isochronic tones. Interesting! I quickly headed over to Google and started reading about this new technology. Wikipedia defines them as:

Isochronic tones are regular beats of a single tone used for brainwave entrainment. Similar to monaural beats, the interference pattern that produces the beat is outside the brain so headphones are not required, but since isochronic tones are more pronounced, the stimuli is even stronger. They differ from monaural beats which are a sine wave pulse rather than entirely separate pulses of a single tone.

The reason I was looking for an app to generate beats was because I got tired of having to depend on one implementation to generate some kind of result. I would rather just have an interface that allows for frequency adjustments and dynamic track overlays. I found a few iPhone apps that would do this, but the tracks were always limited and were of very poor quality, to the point of being a distraction. Then there are so many apps of this type within the store that it seems more like a get rich scheme rather than designed to actually do anything.

Last night curiosity got the best of me so decided to try out the AmbiScience™ series. The application I bought is called Pure Meditation | AmbiScience™ by By Tesla Audio Sciences. I think it ended up costing me a whopping $2.99. What sold me on this product was the fact that it uses the isochronic tones that I have been wanting to try and the track names sounded interesting with names like Lapis Lazuli, Fire Opal, Amethyst, Topaz, The Android’s Dream and many others. As you might have guessed, it lets me pick a frequency and then lay tracks over the top, which was my original goal. Full description here.

So what did the pudding taste like? This morning around 6 AM I ended up using Shamanic Meditation Low Pitch (Isochronic tones at 4.5HZ) with a Brown Noise overlay. The track volume was at 100% and the tone volume at 75%. The iPhone volume was set at about 8. The product allows for a 4.5 – 9 HZ frequency with a choice of binaural beats or isochronic tones. I was laying on my right side and I began to use a concentrative type meditation. The goal at first was to have no thought and then I progressed to just focusing on the tone. The brown noise track basically sounded like a soft wind.

My wife was sitting in front of me holding the baby and I remember hearing him occasionally. Within about 10 minutes he started fading and I felt a floating sensation. I shifted my focus away from my body and upwards and felt myself float up through the ceiling of the room and out of the house. I drifted up higher and off into the sky and then started spinning head over heal back down into the house. The entire time I was consciously aware that I was in an altered state and could hear the tone the entire time. I had pretty good control over this experience. I like the sensation of flying so I ended up flying all over the sky above our house for several minutes.

I shifted my focus back to my physical body and found myself laying in bed staring at my wife holding the baby. I decided to end the experience and reached up to take the earphones off and my hands passed though my head. I discovered that I was still in the altered state and had actually been looking at her through my closed eyelids. I simply focused on coming back into phase with my physical body, felt gravity and knew I was really back. I opened my physical eyes and my wife was in the exact spot and position that I saw her in while in the altered state.

I found this experience interesting in that the isochronic tone seemed to have locked me into this altered state because I had to really focus on pulling myself out of it. This is a very good sign! Perhaps I will be able to repeat this again. We shall see.

This is a short lucid dream experience that I had a few days ago. It seems that perhaps the lack of sleep helped to trigger this event. I can’t be absolutely sure though.

The last two weeks have been rough as far as sleep goes. Our son Gabriel was born on June 20th (Father’s Day) and since then we have been getting adjusted to his sleeping patterns. This basically means that we have not been getting much sleep.

It was Thursday night and I had finally fallen asleep at about 1 am after Gabriel had been up crying and eventually fell asleep. As I drifted off I cleared my mind and I noticed that after about five minutes a sinking sensation within me. I then noticed that I was still aware (as in I had waking consciousness), and my body had sunk into the mattress. This to me indicated that my awareness had shifted and that my physical body was sleeping and my awareness was separated from the physical body data stream.

I set my intent on moving over to where my wife was sleeping in the bed next to mine and instantly I found myself floating up and across the room and over to her. I floated over her and gently landed on the bed next to her. She seemed to be confused and not herself and I remember pointing at myself sleeping on the other bed and I was telling her that I was in two places at once. She still seemed confused and didn’t answer.

I decided to leave the room and floated downstairs. When I arrived downstairs I found myself in an unfamiliar room and staring at static on a TV that was sitting in the middle of the room. I must have stared at the TV for a few minutes and then I floated back upstairs.

When I was back upstairs I lost most of my awareness and drifted into the middle of the room against the wall and felt myself spinning. The more I spun the less awareness I had until I finally lost all awareness and ended up dreaming.

I have been having a ton of dreams lately after starting up daily meditation. Last night was no exception as I can remember four different dreams last night, one of which was lucid.

I went to bed around 1:30 PM last night and meditated until I lost awareness. The exercise has been to stay aware as long as I can before sleep takes over while constantly focusing on something that keeps thoughts out. Additionally, any time that I wake up I repeat the same exercise.

I became lucid inside a dream at some point last night at what felt like about 2:00 AM. I was dreaming about a girl stealing my credit cards out of my wallet and then all of the sudden the dream shifted and I found myself in sleep paralysis in bed. Normally when I get into sleep paralysis I know exactly what to do, a simple thought of astral projection will take me to full waking awareness or into what is called the out of body state. The problem this time was that I was laying in my childhood bunk bed. Momentarily I was no longer an adult and had drifted back in time. It’s hard to explain, but at some point fear manifested because of a faint memory of being an adult that slipped in and caused me to question my sanity. It just got progressively worse the more I tried to bring the adult memory back.

During this lucid episode I was completely paralyzed and it seemed that part of a separate awareness was over-lapping this experience and was saying “this is it, project!”. The other part was the fear of not being able to find the time based identity. I was able to move my head and look around the room and it was truly amazing and nostalgic, the room was just like I remembered it with two sets of bunk beds. My other brothers shared a room with me during my childhood. I was paralyzed laying on my right side and was facing the other bed across from me on the other side of the room. It was a small room with only about a 5 foot section of floor space between the beds. Both beds were in opposing corners of the room with a window to the backyard between the two beds. The top of my head was facing the backyard. Opposite wall from the window was the old TV we used to play Atari on sitting on the old clothes drawer.

I kept staring at the TV throughout the experience. It was turned on and there was static on the screen and it looked normal for the most part, however the static seemed to occasionally have huge green flashes within the static. This seemed odd and my attention became intensely focused on the TV. This is where my awareness slowly started transitioning back to current time and the room faded out and my current room began to emerge. Through closed eyelids I saw the source of the green flashes. I was was looking at my Welz Rad5 Chi Generator and their flashing green lights which just happened to be sitting in the exact same location in relation to where my old childhood TV was. I slowly regained full waking consciousness and opened my eyes.

This was a really cool experience and if my identity based fear had not taken over me I would have projected. This has been a known fear for awhile and I think that it’s something that I need to overcome.

Later in the day on 2010-05-03 (after having an OBE earlier in the morning) I continued to think about the fact that while “out of body” I saw the center of the Milky Way galaxy with the Moon in front of it, bottom left center. This is a pretty good personal validation for me. Skeptics please remain skeptical as I will as well! This is just me collecting data to support the validity of my experiences.

I used the astronomy software on my iPhone to go back in time to the out of body experience around 3 AM – 4AM to see where the Moon actually was in relation to the center of the Milky Way galaxy and this is what it showed.

Once again this is documentation for my own personal experience and I absolutely do not expect anyone to accept this as fact.

I started my journey for spiritual growth about 1.5 years ago. From the beginning I have intuitively known that I need to quiet the incessant cacophony in my head to make any real progress. This has been a real challenge with so much work all the time. I have been searching for a practical meditation technique that only retains the active components needed to be effective without any added nonsense. The Buddhist meditation was close but didn’t totally connect with my personality.

I am not going to claim success, because I just don’t have enough experience with this technique to do that however I do know that Thomas Campbell’s meditation technique showed some positive results last night on the first try. I really liked when he said that humanity is just a wrinkle in the fabric of consciousness and by using a simple mantra we can create enough background noise to remove the wrinkles leaving only pure consciousness. He has a way with words that I can relate to. Eckhart Tolle almost had me there but not quite. The funny part is that I have been saying all along that the mantra itself didn’t matter but I missed a vital component. I think the key was that I was using real words that were attached to meanings and that was creating thoughts. Last night for the first time I used an alternating mantra of sounds with no meanings. Each manta contained 5 syllables with only the third syllable changing which created resonate meaningless complex sounds which I kept coming back to anytime thoughts would arise.

I went to bed tired at about 10:30 PM and put on my headphones and started listening to Brain Sync Dream Wave Meditation to block out background noise and then started the mantra ah-lum-bar-dee-dum – ah-lum-baa-dee-dum over and over.Within 10 minutes all I could hear in my head was bar-baa bar-baa. 10 minutes after that all physical sensory perception was gone and I was a single point of consciousness floating in 3d blackness. I could feel a surge of energy flowing through my body and my heart felt like it was racing prior to this. I ended the meditation session and went to sleep.

I woke up at 2:30 AM itching and could not seem to go back to sleep so I got up and went to the restroom and then came back to bed and listened to some random music for a few minutes until I started getting sleepy again. I put on Brain Sync – Brain Massage this time and started the mantra again. I fell asleep within a few minutes.

Around 4:00 PM I woke up in vibrations and instinctively exited my body and was standing in front of my house in the dark. I must have teleported there. This was the first OOBE followed by 2 more. The first one was interesting and I will just say that I was creating my surroundings just by thinking about what I wanted. I will not get into too many details. I had a second OOBE but I can’t actually remember what happened, only that it occurred.

The third OOBE was the most interesting of the three. I was standing on the top of some building that stood alone in some remote country landscape at daybreak. I was thinking to myself about how I had always wanted to project into space. I figured I would give it a try. I thought about flying into space and instantly was projected upward at and incredible speed and stopped at an unknown altitude in complete darkness. With my mind I asked to see the cosmos and suddenly at what appeared like an altitude of about +50º to my right appeared the Milky Way Galaxy with the Moon sitting in front of it. I was so crystal clear and beautiful that I can’t even describe it. I found myself back in waking awareness right after this and then went back to sleep and had no other experiences.

I would like to point out that if you are going to use Thomas Campbell’s technique for meditation then you will need to read his trilogy My Big TOE. Although I explained his technique above, there is a lot of reading material that leads up to that technique and prepares you for how to effectively use the technique. The main part is adjusting the attitude. Like I said, Eckhart Tolle get’s very close to the exact same message but comes across in a slightly less direct manner. Thomas Campbell is a nuclear physicist and is one of the main guys that helped Robert Monroe invent Hemi-Sync and start the Monroe Institute. He was also one of the main players participating in their exploration of consciousness. It’s no surprise to me that the technique worked so well.

Last night I was feeling very tired. This is mostly because I have been working my day job plus staying up late studying and getting my web programming business going. I wasn’t expecting or trying to have an OOBE or a lucid dream last night, I was simply trying to get a good night’s rest.

I fell asleep listening to Electric Light Orchestra – Out of the Blue and then woke back up a few minutes later choking after sucking some saliva down my windpipe. What a horrible feeling it is to wake up gasping for air but it seems to happen to me frequently. I fell back asleep after this and didn’t wake back up.

I don’t remember much of my dreams last night but at some point I found myself in a dream laying in my bed trying to fall asleep. I remember trying to get comfortable but couldn’t. I then felt someone tucking me in. I am not sure who it was but as they tucked me in I became extremely relaxed and then instinctively went for an exit technique. I felt myself sink down into the bed and then I drifted out of the bed an into a upright position standing in the doorway leading out of my bedroom.

I walked down the hallway and then down the stairs to the first floor of our apartment. When I got to the bottom of the stairs I started thinking about whether or not I was awake or asleep so I tried the wall test by attempting to stick my foot though the wall next to the door that leads out of the apartment. The wall seemed pretty solid to me so I figured that I might be awake. I decided to head outside and see if things out there matched waking reality.

I walked out the door and noticed that things looked and felt real but the outside area did not match what’s really in front of my apartment. It’s hard to explain this and you have to experience an OOBE or lucid dream to understand. Even when things don’t match waking reality, it’s hard to convince yourself that it’s not waking reality. The reason for this is how vivid the experience usually is. There is not a difference as far as senses go between being awake or being lucid or in an OOBE. The only clues that you have to go on are reality fluctuations. Even though I normally know that I am not at my real house, the experience itself is very real and normally I am not asking “Is this real?”, I am asking “Where the hell am I?”.

When I waked out of the apartment I found myself standing on a large elevated concrete porch under a white aluminum awning. I was in an urban neighborhood and there was a road directly in front of the house and there were houses on either side of the road about 30 ft apart from each other.

I walked down the stairs and out into the street and looked to my left and noticed a man about 100 yards away walking down the street towards me. It was at this point that I noticed that my clothes had disappeared so I ran back up the porch stairs and ducked out of view. I reality fluctuation happened again and my clothes were back. I wanted to test the environment so I jumped up in the air and rather than falling back to the ground I hovered about 2 ft off the ground. seeing that I was able to fly I decided to explore the neighborhood from the air.

I floated down the stairs and this time turned right and headed down the street. I traveled several houses down and noticed that on the left there was a house with a carport and under it were about 5 or 6 women. I went over and said hi or something that I don’t remember and they started being snobbish. I started becoming too aware at this point and felt the environment around me begin to degrade and a few seconds later found myself back in my normal awareness awake in bed.

I don’t know if this was a lucid dream or an OOBE but overall it was a cool experience. Maybe next time something more trippy will happen.
