Thomas Campbell – The Monroe Institute Lecture

Thomas Campbell was one of the original explorers of consciousness during the formation of The Monroe Institute. He worked as a physicist along side Robert Monroe and Dennis Mennerich discovering that binaural beats could help aid in their explorations. This lead to the birth of Hemi-Sync.

Thomas Campbell eventually left he Monroe Institute and went on to create My Big TOE which is a personal model of physics that unified science, philosophy, physics and metaphysics.

Thomas Campbell – Physics, Metaphysics & the Consciousness Connection

This is a three hour video summary of the trilogy of books called My Big TOE authored by nuclear physicist Thomas Campbell with TOE standing for Theory of Everything. Campbell worked with Robert Monroe at the Monroe Institute after graduating and then based on personal experience, logic and physics he unified science, philosophy, physics and metaphysics, and concludes that the meaning is more important than the stuff.

Thomas Campbell introduces himself and his My Big TOE theory (theory of everything) and begins to discuss objective versus subjective.

Thomas Campbell summarizes his My Big TOE theory and explains that when you are in a subsystem you cannot describe the larger system in which the subsystem exists. Consciousness is the large system and our universe is one of the subsystems and we must get out of the subsystem to explain the larger system.

Thomas Campbell talks about other theories and physicists throughout history and begins to talk about Edward Fredkin and Nick Bostrom.

Thomas Campbell moves on to discussing physicists Brian Wentworth and Jim Elvidge who are doing similar work and then explains why he thinks Einstein and David Bohm hit a wall while on their quest to find a theory of everything..

Thomas Campbell talks about why he’s not in the scientific spotlight and how he met Robert Monroe through his boss right out of grad school. He goes on to discuss how we determine what we perceive as real as real.

Thomas Campbell explains that reality is a system of consciousness, consciousness is the media of reality, information is the content of reality, and entropy is the evolutionary motivator of consciousness. Fundamental reality is modeled in a system of digital consciousness. He explains consciousness and reality and how information is nonphysical.

Thomas Campbell finishes up discussing physics by sayings it’s all based on experience and to experience we must have free will to learn and grow. He moves on to metaphysics and states that because experience is the generator of input, consciousness facilitates its own evolution by creating many smaller units (me and you) of consciousness and setting them loose to evolve (lower entropy) by interacting with free will. He concludes from experience that this physical universe is not the fundamental reality frame.

Thomas Campbell explains that the only thing that’s fundamental is consciousness. Even what we consider the non physical is another subsystem. He says that we can’t know about the larger system without going there which is not to say things that are not in the subsystem are not important. He explains the assumptions that the MBT makes so that it can be a TOE.

Thomas Campbell talks about love being the fundamental expression of a low entropy consciousness. He goes on to say that consciousness is teeming with life and that many different frames of realities are existing all at once evolving and lowering entropy. He says that growing up and moving towards love is eliminating ego and fear which is entropy. He states that our reality is one of the more lawful realities.

Thomas Campbell talks about reality and how there is actualized history, unactualized history and future probability. He says that we have access to all of these things and can query the past and future probability like a database with intent. He states that all experience, past and future and stored for our access and we can watch these events like a movie or be a part of them.

Thomas Campbell explains that belief systems limit understanding of the bigger picture. He states that many enlightened individuals such as Lao Tzu understood the bigger system because they had been there. He says the science and religion are different expressions of truth.

Thomas Campbell talks briefly about the paranormal and UFOs and then moves on to flaws of the My Big TOE theory. He then explains what an aware conscious can do and who can be aware. He explains that even though we all can tap into the larger system of consciousness, many people don’t have the desire. He explains that if you do have the desire, collect evidential data or you will not know what you are doing.

Thomas Campbell talks about whether his theory is break through or delusion. He says to know you must go there. He explains that people who go there agree with each other. He asks the question, does what you experience match your own experience which is why he called the theory My Big TOE.

    Hi there… :)

This seems to be an incredible site! One that I’m certainly going to explore more deeply. Everything about it (appearance, content, music) immediately resonated with my own being.

I originally was pointed here, because I was looking up Thomas Campbell, but was already immediately captivated by that gorgeously mesmerizing picture at the top of the page.

Funniest thing is… I had this site in the background (forgotten about it while writing some things down), when I put on my headphones, and heard the music. But at first I couldn’t find the source, which was kind of spooky.:D

Is it your music? It’s really good!
Especially “Remember” is particularly beautiful (and haunting).

    Hi Sylvan,

Glad you like the site and the music. The music is Tibetan Chakra Meditations [Live]. I have used the music to trigger altered states of consciousness and I highly recommend.

If you are looking for Thomas Campbell information, much can be found on the My Big TOE forum http://www.my-big-toe.com/forums/

The forum is very active and there are some very bright people with tons of interesting information about the nature of reality.

Thanks again for dropping in :)
